Brooks' Story
Brooks has lived on Worimi Land her whole life. After graduating from the University of Newcastle in 2014 with a Bachelor of Visual Communication (Design), she stepped away from the creative world for many years and lived a quiet, private life.
Now returning to making things with her hands. She creates small batches of ceramic waterpipes that are entirely hand-built and wheel-thrown.
The idea started simply: "I wanted to make a waterpipe that my mum wouldn’t confiscate and throw away." That small wish grew into something bigger. Waterpipes that feel considered, approachable, and at home in everyday life. Pieces that don’t hide in a cupboard, don’t shout for attention.
Focusing on craftsmanship, balance, and honest materials, these works aim to gently shift the stigma around waterpipes — away from novelty or excess, and toward something functional, well-made, and quietly beautiful.
Crafted to be used, cleaned easily, held comfortably, and appreciated over time. Whether you’re new to waterpipes or have used them for years, these pieces are about slowing down, enjoying the process, and owning something made with intention rather than hype.
Always respectful of the land they’re made on, and grounded in the belief that good objects don’t need to prove themselves — they just need to work well and feel right.
